EADB Tournament Basic Rules
Tournament manager or committee reserve the right to schedule each team and individual and make necessary change and/or refuse any entries.
IMPORTANT-READ CAREFULLY
1) Tournament manager or committee reserves the right to accept or reject any entry. No bowler is eligible to complete more than once in any event.
2) All entries will be scheduled in the order they are received with full event(s) payment. Last minute entries will have to take what is left in the scheduling.
3) All USBC RULES not specifically listed here will be in effect in each event.
4) Substitution must be reported 24 hours to the Secretary before bowling. Otherwise all scores will be disqualified.
GENERAL
5) This tournament is open to teams and individuals who qualify under the rules of the Association and who are members of a league sanctioned by USBC. In a regular sanctioned tournament, all entrants must produce their USBC individual membership card, or purchase an affiliate USBC membership card for $21.00, or pay a $5.00 participation fee. USBC RULE 301a (Moral Support).
6) In the Two-man Event the names of both members of the team must be given, as entries with “partner” will not be accepted. A bowler is not eligible to compete more than once in each of the tournament.
AVERAGE
7) Attention: when previous season’s average is used and at the time of bowling an entrant has a current sanctioned season average for 21 or more games which are 10 or more pins above previous season’s average, the current season’s average will be used.
8) If a bowler reports a lower average than require, or report a higher than average than required and it is NOT CHANGED PRIOR TO BOWLING, the team’s handicap will be based on the higher average. The Secretary/Treasurer will make necessary correction to any handicap where misstatements in average has been made. However, corrections must be made within twenty-four hours prior to bowling. Every team must comply with this time limit, and it will be enforced in it’s entirely. It shall be each bowler’s responsibility to verify the accuracy of his average in handicap or classic tournament, whether originally submitted by the bowler, his captain or others.
9) USBC rule 319A-3 and 319D. This states in part that failure to use the proper average or make a correction prior to completion of the first game of a series shall disqualify score if submitted average is lower than actual average or base prize winnings on submitted average if it is higher. Awkward disqualification may thus be avoided.
NON-SANCTIONED AVERAGE
10) Non-sanctioned league average is not acceptable for this EADB tournament.
HANDICAP BASIC
11) Handicap is based on 70 percent of the difference of bowler’s average and scratch: scratch being 210. Provide No individual’s handicap shall exceed 48 pins per game in any event. Highest USBC Sanctioned league book averages as of last year shall be used in computing handicap. If no average last year, use the current year’s USBC Sanctioned Book average as of March 1st of the current year. Bowlers who do not have an established average to show for this tournament shall be credited with an average of 210. TWENTY-ONE OR MORE games constitute season’s average.
RERATING
12) All entrants are required to be familiar with USBC Rule 319E rerating requirements, and comply with all requirements in each event.
13) Any bowler who has been rated by any tournament or association must inform the tournament committee of his rerating. Any bowler who has refused a re-rating or been disqualified by any tournament must report this before bowling, and will be subject to rerating or denial of entry in this tournament. The tournament committee has the right to reject or rerate any entry without penalty up to the time of bowling in each event. Entry fee will be returned if entrant or entrants do not wish to participate after being notified of any rerating.
TOURNAMENT AVERAGE
14) ATTENTION: TOURNAMENT AVERAGE (TA) WILL BE USED ON ACTUAL SCORES IN TEAM, DOUBLE, AND SINGLE EVENTS. TOURNAMENT AVERAGE WILL BE BASED ON LAST THREE (3) YEARS OF EADB TOURNAMENTS. TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR HAS THE RIGHT TO CHOOSE THE HIGHEST AVERAGE – USING EITHER TOURNAMENT AVERAGE OR USBC LEAGUE AVERAGE.
15) The UNITED STATES BOWLING CONGRESS sanctions this tournament and all its rule will apply and shall be strictly enforced.
